Let us take a look at the AWS Cloud history. It started in 2002 within amazon.com - the company realized that it had the potential to outsource its IT departments. The powerful Amazon infrastructure was realized to be one asset, and the idea grew that they could offer their IT services to external clients. Therefore, they publicly launched their first service, SQS, in the year 2004. In 2006, they added SQS once again, as well as S3 and EC2. Do not fret; we’ll be seeing all these services later on in this series. They widened their services further; they realized that they could operate outside the United States and extend to Europe.
